Room Leader - Early Years Educator

Glebe Kids Nursery in Letchworth is looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Room

Leader to work in our 3-4 year-old room. You must hold a full and relevant Childcare

Qualification at level 3 or above.

The position would be ideal for a confident and hard-working current Room Leader or

senior Practitioner/Deputy Room Leader with ambitions to become a Room Leader. You

will be responsible for all aspects of the day to day running of the room and to ensure that

the child-led planning is carried out alongside providing interesting and challenging

environment for the children to learn and develop.

You will also be a Key Person where you will be responsible for a group of children to

ensure their health, care and educational needs are met and plan for their learning and

development. As a Key Person you will develop strong relationships with the children,

parents and families.

Full training will be provided by our current 3 year old Room Leader who will be taking over

as manager of the setting. You will be shadowing her for the last few weeks of the summer

term, ready to take on the role by yourself in September.

The Candidate MUST:

• Have 5 years experience in a nursery setting

Hours: 27-32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (to be agreed at interview stage)

Job Type: Term time

Salary: £12.50 per hour

Job Duties Summary:

• Responsible for leading a room team
• Responsible for safeguarding children, ensuring excellent education and childcare
• To maintain a safe, secure and caring environment
• Responsible for the development & monitoring of high-quality learning and teaching with positive outcomes for the children in the nursery
• Take an active role within the Nursery Leadership Team and liaise with the Nursery Manager
